About the Role
Ensure that the integrated system of the Puebla piston plant (SIPP) is consistently maintained throughout the organization. Comply with legislation and other applicable requirements (safety, health, and environment) and ensure a safe working environment for Tenneco employees. As well as providing support in various activities that benefit the organization.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the EMIPS process.
- Meet customer expectations.
- Guarantee compliance with production processes.
- Promote the Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (Q-EHS) SIPP System.
- Ensure the control, administration, and identification of non-conforming material.
- Participation in problem-solving within the quality process.
- Train and support floor personnel.
- Performing line release, product and process audits, and LPA audits: reviewing material conformity by operation.
- Auditing the finished product: inspecting the material against the requirements described in the control plan and visual product criteria, while authorizing its shipment to the customer.
- Ensuring product traceability: ensuring that operational personnel guarantee the reliability and legibility of information for product tracking, and identify it at any stage of the process.
- Actively participate in PPAP development.
- Release the start of the process (line), and ensure product quality and process compliance against its specifications.
- Comply with product design specifications.
- Control the process and/or product in the event of a failure and ensure its traceability.
- Customer indicators such as PPMs and maximum customer complaints (monthly and annual).
- Performing audits and/or verification of error-proofing devices (E/P) and EMIPs.
- Verifying their correct operation, ensuring and validating audit and/or verification records for Poka Yoke / Error Proofing, when applicable, ensuring the compliance of their calibration by instrumentation.
- Ensuring the operation of EMIPs through: their verification; setup and adjustment in the area of use; performing their cleaning at the start of each shift; auditing calibration validity.
- Reporting to instrumentation any failures and/or damages found; if within reach, correct them, otherwise, communicate them to instrumentation for repair.
- Ensure the conformity of destructive tests and laboratory tests.
- Guarantee that non-conforming parts are not sent to the customer.
- Ensure the reliability of EMIPs and E/P through their correct functioning, thereby ensuring that the product meets specifications.
- Downtime due to maintenance or setup of instrumentation equipment; Scrap Percentage; Quantity of held material; OEE; Customer complaints.
- Auditing and following up on the correct use of process documents on the line.
- Reviewing, downloading, and using the document system and evaluating that the documents on the floor are updated to the latest revision level according to the SIPP.
- Complying with the Control Plan, also ensuring that operational personnel follow it and/or fill it out in case of records according to what is established in each process document.
- Applying continuous improvement activities.
- Employing statistical process control, BIQS, Auditing visual pareto charts, Control Plans, Tenneco Tips, PPS, Kaizen, etc.
- Participating in the use of analysis and problem-solving tools.
- Disseminating and consolidating a culture of safety and environmental protection in the area and in the performance of their duties.
- Communicating to floor personnel the importance and use of safety equipment and feeding back unsafe acts or conditions to their superiors.
- Supporting company Occupational Health and Environment programs.
- Participating in system audits.
- Provide support in maintaining control of documents on the floor and ensure their compliance to guarantee customer requirements.
- Comply with and support the execution of the necessary processes for the proper functioning and improvement of the SIPP.
- Achieve business goals in terms of rejections, customer complaints, legal compliance, accidents/incidents, and reduction of various costs.
- Support improvement areas and ensure product quality during the manufacturing process.
- Prevent accidents and safeguard the physical integrity of floor personnel.
- Comply with MASH area programs.
- Compliance with LPAs; Result of system audits (internal and external); Zero accidents; Safety observation indicator.
- Ensure the control, administration, and identification of non-conforming material.
- Verification of rejected parts at the end of the production line shift.
- Identifying, registering, and disposing of suspect, adjustment, or scrap material in the corresponding areas, as well as ensuring the implementation of corrective actions for the problems that generate the mentioned material.
- Maintain identified and inventoried incoming and outgoing non-conforming material, thus preventing material contamination and potential customer complaints.
