The Sucuriú Project marks Arauco's pulp division's entry into Brazil. The US$4.6 billion investment includes the construction of a plant with a production capacity of 3.5 million tons of short fiber pulp per year. It is located in an area of 3,500 hectares, 50 kilometers from the city center of Inocência (MS) and next to the Sucuriú River. The earthmoving stage began in 2024, and the planned start of operation is at the end of 2027. In all phases of the Project's development, and continuously, it monitors and respects local biodiversity, identifying native flora and fauna species in the region, as well as mapping priority areas for conservation. During the construction, Arauco will provide training and generate over 14,000 job opportunities. After start-up, the Sucuriú Project will employ around 6,000 people in the Industrial, Forest, and Logistics operations units. The purpose is to drive social and economic development for the entire region, fostering an increase in income generation and tax collection, as well as contributing to attracting investments.

About the Role

Challenges:

Execute fabrication, maintenance, repair, and assembly work on metal structures, tanks, screws, piping, and various heavy boilermaking components. Act as a technical reference for the team, performing advanced reading of drawings, marking, cutting, bending, welding, and assembly with a high level of precision, ensuring technical compliance and operational safety.

Main Activities:

• Lead, organize, and distribute mechanical maintenance tasks performed in the Workshop, prioritizing critical interventions and ensuring deadlines are met, monitoring the execution of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance services;
• Perform boilermaking services, including fabrication, assembly, and adjustment of metal parts and structures;
• Perform cutting, bending, rolling, and forming of metal sheets, tubes, and profiles;
• Take measurements, layout, mark, and prepare materials according to drawings and specifications;
• Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on equipment;
• Provide technical guidance to the team, ensuring the correct use of tools and practices, assisting in fault diagnosis, analyzing complex problems in mechanical equipment, and proposing appropriate technical solutions;
• Inspect the services performed to ensure they align with established quality standards, as well as monitor the calibration and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment, ensuring the implementation of good practices for continuous improvement of maintenance processes;
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with mechanical maintenance operations, implementing and monitoring safe practices in the use of machinery and equipment, ensuring all workshop activities are carried out in accordance with safety regulations, such as NR-12 and NR-13;
• Monitor the use of materials and consumables used in maintenance, requesting and controlling spare parts inventory, ensuring availability for planned and emergency interventions, contributing to the optimization of maintenance costs, avoiding waste, and promoting economical solutions;
• Identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance processes and component fabrication, as well as collaborate with engineering and reliability teams in developing projects for equipment optimization and in the implementation of modern mechanical maintenance technologies and practices;
• Other related activities;

Mandatory Requirements:

• Technical Course in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or related areas;
• Advanced knowledge in industrial equipment maintenance, reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
• Proficiency in welding techniques and part recovery
• NR-12 (Machinery and Equipment) and NR-11 (Load Handling)
• Familiarity with high and medium voltage electrical distribution (circuit breakers, transformers, control panels);
• Knowledge of SAP – Maintenance Module;
• Knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, MIG, TIG);
• Availability to reside and work in Inocência/MS.
