Our client is a medium-sized and expanding family-owned company in the shipping industry with its headquarters in Hamburg. The company employs around 100 employees on land at five locations in Germany and Europe. On board the ships, more than 1,200 employees work. With a fleet of over 140 ships, the company specializes in inland and sea transport of chemicals, liquefied gases, and mineral oil products in Europe.

We are looking for a technical inspector (m/w/d) on behalf of our client:

Technical Inspector (m/w/d)

In Duisburg

Tasks

• Technical supervision of 3 to 4 inland tankers.
• Monitoring of repairs and dry dock times.
• Budget planning and budgeting.
• Creating visit reports on the condition of the ship.
• Assistance in insurance cases.
• Maintenance of new project developments in cooperation with the local building authority.

Qualification

• A completed vocational training in the field of ship operations or comparable qualification.
• Relevant sea time as 2nd engineer or comparable experience.
• Knowledge in the area of ship repair and dockings
• Understanding of economic relationships and cost awareness;
• Safe German and English language skills in writing and speaking.
• Readiness for international travel in the ARA region.
• Good knowledge of EDV office applications.
• MULTI-YEAR EXPERIENCE IN THE INLAND SHIPPING INDUSTRY
