With strong mid-sized companies and leading universities in Central Hesse developing our innovation ecosystem further – with a focus on Sustainable Life and Deep Tech (our partners focus primarily on Construction, Optics, Industry 5.0, and Life Science / MedTech).

We are looking for a technical counterpart to our Venture & Innovation role: a person who understands technologies, translates them, and ensures that startup solutions fit the challenges of companies.

Aufgaben

🎯 Zielsetzung der Position

As Technical Innovations Manager, you are the technical hub of LOVEDIS.

You translate technology potential between company partners and startups, evaluate technological maturity levels, recognize opportunities and risks, and ensure that the innovations we identify and accelerate are technically feasible, scalable, and relevant.

You are a Tech-Translator & Evaluator: You can categorize technologies, speak with engineers and F&E leaders, understand technical roadmaps – and let this knowledge flow pragmatically into Venture Partnering, Challenges, and Startup-Matching.

Kernrolle & Verantwortungsbereiche

1) Technische Startup- & Innovationsevaluation

  • Technical analysis and evaluation of startups in areas like mechanical engineering, optics, materials, construction, industrial tech, KI-based solutions, sensorics & robotics.
  • Conducting technical assessment calls & due-diligence checks.
  • Determining technological readiness levels (TRL), risks, integration efforts, and scaling potential.
  • Closely cooperating with the Venture & Innovation Management for matching to industrial partners.

2) Technische Beratung fΓΌr Industriepartner

  • Identifying technical problem statements and translating them into clear innovation challenges. Your point of contact is F&E, engineering, production, digital units, and technical decision-makers.
  • Identifying technological opportunities in the market as well as potential key technologies for partner companies.

3) Schnittstelle zwischen Forschung, Engineering & Startups

  • Exchange with scientific institutions, labs, and institutes of THM, UMR, and JLU.
  • Categorizing new research results, materials, or technologies in terms of industrial applicability and translating technical insights into venture and program decisions.

4) Technisches Sparring fΓΌr den Industry Accelerator

  • Validating the technical quality of startups in the accelerator.
  • Safeguarding that the technical solutions of startups and the technical needs of companies match.
  • Moderating technical content, e.g., readiness checklists, proof-of-concept processes, integration requirements.
  • Determining technical KPIs for matching, pilots, and implementation scenarios.

Qualifikation

What you bring

πŸ”Ή Technical Background & Analysis Ability

  • 1–5 years of experience in a technological environment
  • (Studies in: mechanical engineering, engineering, production technology, electronics, AI engineering, economics engineering, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of new technologies, particularly KI applications in an industrial context.
  • Able to quickly familiarize yourself with new technologies (Deep Tech, industrial processes, sensorics, robotics, material innovations).

πŸ”Ή Kommunikation & Stakeholder-Schnittstellen

  • Strong interfaces between startups, engineering, company partners, and research institutions.
  • Experience in consulting, technical scouting, innovation management, or tech due diligence is beneficial.

  • Hands-on, but strategically thinking.
  • Open and curious attitude towards Deep Tech & sustainable technologies.
  • Very good German and English skills
