As an innovative and modern municipal service provider, our client, the Zweckverband Abfallbehandlung Kahlenberg (ZAK) with its seat in Ringsheim, has been a fixed presence in the waste management industry for many years and actively contributes to the climate-neutral transformation and further development of a sustainable circular economy. As a corporate body of public law with around 130 employees, the ZAK has the task of disposing of the waste brought in from the member districts Emmendingen and Ortenaukreis and providing and developing the necessary technology. Waste disposal includes treatment, processing, and disposal of waste. This range of services extends from operating the Deponie Kahlenberg (DK II) to running modern facilities for mechanical-biological waste treatment and raw material recovery, up to energy generation and water purification.

In the context of a age-related succession regulation, we are looking for a convincing and skilled leadership personality as speaker of the management board.

Aufgaben

• Strategic and operational leadership and further development of the business with its employees together with the Commercial Management Board
• Responsibility for the entire technical area with over a hundred employees
• Satisfaction of all tasks in accordance with permits and laws, technically correct and economically efficient
• Initiation, planning, and leadership of strategic projects in the technical area
• Overarching assurance of efficient processes and workflows
• Implementation of future themes with suitable formats
• Leadership and promotion of employees through an open, constructive, and transparent communication and corporate culture
• Trustworthy cooperation with the Commercial Management Board, the Association President, the Association Assembly, the districts, and the competent authorities, as well as sovereign representation of ZAK inwardly and outwardly

Qualifikation

• Completed technical university degree or equivalent qualification
• Mult-year experience in a technical leadership position at a waste management company with complex equipment technology or a related field
• Experience in planning, controlling, and implementing strategic projects and complex processes as well as dealing with authorities and external service providers
• High level of stress tolerance with precise and result-oriented working style
• Able to communicate openly, trustfully, and respectfully with different hierarchical levels
• Experience in dealing with political and municipal as well as higher-level committees
