Technical Purchaser (m/f/d)

We are Solifos – a Swiss fiber optic cable manufacturer with over 25 years of experience in fiber optic sensing and tactical communication systems. Our purchasing department ensures that fibers, jacketing materials, connectors, and special parts arrive at production on time. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you: someone who manages the day-to-day business together with our purchaser and is eager to develop further beyond that.

Your Responsibilities

• You will form the purchasing team together with our existing purchaser and take over a part of the suppliers and materials under your own responsibility
• You will issue orders, track deadlines, check order confirmations, and follow up with suppliers when things get stuck
• You will obtain quotes, compare them, and negotiate prices and delivery conditions in day-to-day business
• You will work closely with production, work preparation, development, and quality, and understand what lies behind a technical requirement
• You will handle complaints towards suppliers
• You will maintain supplier and material master data in the ERP system and keep the data clean
• Depending on requirements, you will support the procurement for customer projects, and over time, you can also grow into strategic topics such as supplier selection or framework agreements

What you bring

• A commercial or technical basic education, ideally with further training in purchasing (e.g., Purchasing Specialist or equivalent)
• Experience in operative purchasing in a manufacturing company is an advantage
• Proficient use of ERP systems (ideally SAP) and MS Office
• Enjoyment of negotiations and a good sense for supplier relationships
• Structured, reliable work approach and team spirit
• Curiosity and a desire to take on responsibility beyond day-to-day business
• Very good German and good English skills
