Technical Analyst Energy Supply Metro

A rectifier station is experiencing a failure again. Mechanics have previously replaced a component, but the problem keeps recurring. You investigate the reports, examine measurement data, go into the field, and discover the real root cause. As a technical analyst for metro energy supply, you ensure that installations become more reliable and failures occur less often. Do you recognize yourself in this? What you will do

As a technical analyst for metro energy supply, you work on the reliability of the metro's energy supply. Your role is similar to that of a maintenance engineer, but with a strong focus on execution. You investigate failures, analyze maintenance data, and observe how installations perform in practice. You propose improvements based on market developments.

You won't just be sitting at your desk. You will regularly go into the field to inspect installations, perform measurements, and work with mechanics to identify the cause of technical problems. You translate your findings into improvements that you present in a proposal for improvement and that can potentially be applied in practice.

You will be involved in, among other things:

• analyzing failures, condition measurements, and maintenance data;
• recognizing patterns, trends, and risks;
• drafting and improving work instructions and maintenance plans;
• advising on technical improvements, materials, and installations;
• testing and evaluating new technologies and installations;
• supporting projects such as the replacement of rectifier stations;
• collaborating with mechanics, planners, engineers, asset managers, and suppliers;
• attending tests.

Sometimes a project requires work outside regular working hours. This happens occasionally, for example, for a measurement or test during a de-energization.

What you bring

You find it interesting to figure out why something happens. You are not satisfied with a quick conclusion but keep searching until you understand the cause. You take initiative, come up with improvement proposals, and know how to get others on board with your advice.

In addition, you have:

• an MBO 4 or HBO diploma in electrical engineering or a comparable technical field;
• experience in a technical maintenance or infrastructure environment;
• affinity with failure analysis, maintenance, and the improvement of technical installations;
• good analytical skills and the ability to make connections;
• the ability to clearly report and explain technical information.

Experience with traction voltage, high voltage, or low voltage is a plus, but not a requirement. Within GVB, you will have the opportunity to follow training for this.

Your team

You will work within the metro energy supply team of Rail Infrastructure Execution. The team consists of approximately twenty mechanics, four planners, and one technical analyst. Together, you ensure that the metro network's energy supply remains reliable. Communication lines are short, and colleagues easily seek each other out. You will regularly work with mechanics in the field and consult with planners, engineers, and project teams about improvements. Knowledge sharing and finding solutions together are central.
