Job description
The digital systems technician job is essential for the realization of all operations of the Air and Space Army, whether on national soil or abroad. This job consists of deploying and maintaining operational computer tools necessary for transmitting information to units and monitoring air and space surveillance. Digital systems technicians design and pilot software to ensure cybersecurity of networks and guarantee air defense.
A salary equal between men and women at the same post and equivalent hierarchical level.

To become a digital systems technician, training includes two consecutive periods:
- 15 weeks of military basic instruction at the Air and Space Army Sub-Officer Training School (EFSOAAE) located in Rochefort (17).
- Between 19 and 28 weeks of professional training depending on the chosen specialty. Depending on this, your assignment takes place on air bases in Rochefort or in the city of Rennes (35).
As a digital systems technician, your job includes the following missions:
- You implement and administer computer systems for the benefit of air operations and inter-arm entities;
- You maintain operational condition and troubleshoot systems for air and space traffic surveillance and air defense;
- You anticipate and take the required measures in case of cyber attacks;
- You configure and supervise computer networks;
- You support telecommunications means and anti-drone systems.
