Technical Support Engineer

Job description

Job Title: Technical Support Engineer - Application Management Experience Level: 3-7 Years Key Responsibilities: Application Deployment & Management: Manage the deployment of applications, including relevant upgrades and patches, across UAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments. Oversee the deployment and basic administration of databases. Ensure the continuous uptime and availability of applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues with minimal supervision. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions. Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Monitor application performance and health using various monitoring tools. Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies to optimize application performance. Incident Management & Problem Solving: Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot application-related issues. Investigate and resolve incidents, escalating to appropriate teams when necessary. Follow incident management processes to ensure timely resolution and communication. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Share knowledge and best practices with team members to improve overall team performance. Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment, monitoring, and other operational tasks. Contribute to automation efforts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3-7 years of experience in technical support or application management roles. Strong understanding of application deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Experience with databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of ITIL or other incident management frameworks is a plus. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
