Technical Support Engineer – IT, Networking & Technical Systems

Experience level: Middle (2 - 5 years)

CALIROM is expanding its team and is looking for a new colleague for the Technical Support Department.

We are looking for a technical, attentive, and curious person who enjoys investigating problems, identifying their causes, and finding solutions.

The role involves providing technical support for hardware and software systems installed at our clients' locations, diagnosing problems remotely, and collaborating with on-site technicians.

What you will do:

• You will receive and resolve technical support requests from clients;
• You will diagnose software, hardware, network, or communication issues between equipment;
• You will check servers and services running on Linux and Windows systems;
• You will check network connections and communications between different equipment;
• You will analyze logs and error messages to identify the causes of problems;
• You will provide remote technical support to technicians at client locations;
• You will perform basic technical checks on electrical/electronic components;
• You will document interventions and applied solutions.

What knowledge we are looking for:

• Good Windows user knowledge;
• Basic Linux knowledge;
• Basic networking knowledge: IP, subnet, gateway, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP;
• Understanding of basic concepts regarding networks and communication equipment;
• Basic knowledge in the electrical/electronic field;
• Ability to understand a simple electrical diagram;
• Knowledge of voltage, current, AC/DC, and polarity;
• Understanding of relay operation and NO / NC / COM contacts;
• Basic use of a multimeter for voltage measurement and continuity testing;
• Understanding of low-voltage circuits, such as 12V / 24V DC;
• Intermediate English language proficiency;
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

An electrician qualification is not required, but it is important to have basic technical knowledge and be able to understand connections and how equipment works.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in a Technical Support / IT Support / System Administration role;
• Experience with Linux Server;
• SQL / MySQL knowledge;
• Experience with SSH, VPN, and remote access solutions;
• More advanced networking knowledge;
• Experience with electronic equipment and automation systems.
