THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
To be shortlisted, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and competencies, including but not limited to:
- Sailed as Chief Engineer and has a Chief Engineer Unlimited qualification
- Tanker experience and valid tanker endorsements will be advantageous.
- Understand electronic planned maintenance, procurement, and safety management systems.
- Good communication and organising skills.
- A motivated individual who takes initiative; has proven problem-solving abilities and can successfully adapt to changing demands and conditions.
- Be able to work flexible hours and willing to travel at short notice.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that vessels are maintained in accordance with Company, Statutory, OCIMF, and Classification requirements and standards.
- Ensure operational readiness of vessels.
- Maintain good communication with vessel management, as well as internal and external clients and contractors.
- Formulate, manage, and control all aspects of vessel technical budgets and operating costs.
- Facilitate the procurement of spares and consumables.
- Conduct vessel vetting inspections and submit reports.
- Perform evaluations for dry-docking projects, ship maintenance repair quotes, and selection of shipyards for repair works, etc.
- Provide technical assistance to vessels.
- Work closely with the SHEQ Management team to ensure successful implementation of the SHEQ system and policies.
A market-related salary, commensurate with the level of responsibility for this role, is on offer.
