Reporting to the Delivery Manager | Head of Data Analytics and Reporting, the Technical Reporting Specialist| Data Analytics and Reporting, is a key member of the newly established Technical Reporting Team within the Data Analytics & Reporting Area. This role is designed to provide a structured link between business stakeholders (both internal and external) and technical development/ data teams.
The primary objective is to translate business reporting needs into data-driven solutions using strong analytical thinking, SQL, and ETL processes. The role involves understanding data models, sourcing relevant data from internal systems (primarily via SQL), supporting data pipeline integrity, and building reliable reporting solutions.

What you’ll do:

- Act as a functional bridge between internal stakeholders, external clients, and development/data teams for all reporting-related topics
- Collect, understand, and document reporting and data requirements based on operational and client needs
- Ensure clear alignment between business requirements and technical implementation
- Analyse and understand data models and data flows within internal data warehouses and systems
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for reporting and analytical purposes
- Perform root-cause analysis for reporting discrepancies or data quality issues
- Design and implement structured reporting solutions tailored to business requirements
- Automate recurring reports and data extraction processes using SQL, scripts, or scheduling tools
- Support the transition of manual reporting activities into automated and scalable solutions
- Understand and work with ETL processes, ensuring correct data transformation and loading into reporting layers
- Collaborate with data engineers to enhance and maintain data pipelines where necessary
- Identify opportunities for ETL improvements or optimizations relevant to reporting efficiency
- Maintain clear and structured documentation of reporting logic, data definitions, and queries
- Follow internal data governance and version control standards
- Contribute to team knowledge bases, or reporting catalogues
- Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) to support report prototyping or visualization when needed
- Assist business users with interpretation of data visualizations and underlying logic
- Strong experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries (preferably in environments like PostgreSQL, SQL Server), minimum 3 years experience
- Solid understanding of data analysis concepts and ability to explore, profile, and validate datasets
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data integration pipelines, and transformation logic, minimum 3 years experience
- Comfortable working with large datasets and joining data from multiple sources
- Ability to understand and interpret data models and relational schemas
- Good communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Capable of managing multiple reporting requests and priorities in parallel
- Python knowledge for data manipulation or scripting simple reporting tasks, at least 1 year experience
- Familiarity with BI tools for visualization or dashboard creation (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
- Experience working in a data-driven environment or analytics function
- Experience with agile project delivery (Scrum/Kanban)
