Technical Project Manager – Software Development (m/f/d)

• You are responsible for the operational management of our software development and ensure that our backend and frontend teams can deliver reliably and with a clear focus. You manage planning, capacities, dependencies, and releases, and keep an eye on the entire development process.
• You lead our development leads and development teams in terms of expertise and discipline. You create clear responsibilities, develop employees further, and ensure that problems and blockers are identified and resolved early.
• You coordinate teams and tickets throughout their entire lifecycle, continuously develop our development and project processes, and ensure transparent and realistic planning for all relevant stakeholders.
• You are the central interface between development and Product Management. Product is responsible for product strategy, prioritization, and requirements – you, together with the development leads, ensure that technically sensible, realistically planned, and reliably implemented solutions are created from these.
• This role is not a classic IT project management position: You yourself bring a strong technical background and can make architectural and design decisions together with our development leads, assess technical risks, and evaluate different solution approaches.
• You keep an eye on long-term technical topics in addition to short-term delivery – from architecture and maintainability to security and technical debt, to the further development of our engineering standards.
• You actively drive our AI First Development Culture forward. This is not just about AI-assisted programming: you identify opportunities to integrate AI into research, technical conception, architecture, project planning, development, Testing, reviews, debugging, documentation, and other development processes, and help the team use them effectively.

• You have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in software development and have personally worked as a software developer.
• You have demonstrable experience in leading developers and development teams and have already taken on both expert and disciplinary responsibility.
• You have experience in managing software development projects: You have coordinated multiple developers and stakeholders, been responsible for planning and timelines, managed dependencies, and guided releases to implementation.
• You are technically deep enough to understand and help shape architectural decisions, identify technical risks early on, and discuss them with experienced developers on an equal footing.
• You have in-depth experience in at least one of our technological focal areas: Python-based backend development, ideally with Django / Django REST Framework or FastAPI, or modern frontend development with React and TypeScript. Experience with the other area is a plus.
• You understand modern SaaS architectures, REST APIs, relational databases, and the fundamental challenges in developing, operating, and further developing complex web applications.
• You can balance product requirements, technical possibilities, and available resources, and communicate decisions understandably.
• You actively use AI tools or are intensively engaged with how AI can change development and project processes. You pragmatically evaluate new tools, question their output, and can establish successful workflows within the team.
• You communicate clearly and persuasively and feel equally comfortable coordinating with development, Product Management, and management.
• You bring a collaborative leadership style, organizational skills, and a genuine desire to shape things.
