Technical Pilot – B737-800BCF (Auckland, NZ or Brisbane AUS)

Texel Air is excited to announce that we have an opening for the position of Technical Pilot – B737-800BCF within our Flight Operations Team. This key role is ideal for an experienced pilot with a strong technical background who is looking to expand their impact beyond the flight deck. The Technical Pilot will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the B737-800BCF fleet, providing technical oversight and supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our aircraft. Key Responsibilities: • Provide technical guidance and support to the Flight Operations Team on all matters related to the B737-800BCF fleet; • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the aircraft to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Texel Air's internal policies; • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, guides, and procedures for the B737-800BCF fleet; • Collaborate with other departments, such as Maintenance and Engineering, to ensure effective communication and coordination on all matters related to the B737-800BCF fleet; • Provide training and support to pilots and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of the B737-800BCF aircraft; • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry developments affecting the B737-800BCF fleet, and provide recommendations for implementation; • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, manufacturers, and other industry partners. Requirements: • Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL) with a type rating on the B737-800BCF aircraft; • Have at least 2,000 hours of total flight time, with a minimum of 1,500 hours as pilot-in-command; • Possess a strong technical background and experience in aviation maintenance or engineering; • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines; • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Be willing to travel regularly for training, meetings, and other business purposes.
