Technical Director (m/f/d)

On behalf of our client, an internationally leading service provider for the automotive industry, we are looking for an experienced operational manager. Our client supports renowned automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers (Tier-1) with tailor-made solutions in the area of vehicle quality – from production launch to series production. To strategically further develop the business unit in Germany and ensure profitable growth, we are looking for you as Technical Director (m/f/d).

Your Tasks

• You will take over the nationwide management for the Vehicle Quality service area and manage its operational implementation at various customer locations.

• You will hold full P&L responsibility and ensure adherence to budget, forecast, as well as optimization of revenue and contribution margin.

• You will lead 6 to 10 direct reports (Area and Project Managers) and indirectly manage a team of approximately 160 employees at project sites.

• You will be responsible for resource and personnel planning for projects in the areas of quality inspection, rework/post-processing, retrofit, and pre-delivery inspection (PDI).

• You will act as a strategic contact and escalation point for automotive manufacturers. At the same time, you will implement growth strategies and generate new business in cooperation with internal specialist departments.

Your Profile

• You have a completed degree in engineering, business administration, logistics, or a comparable qualification. An MBA is an advantage.

• You have at least six years of relevant professional experience in the automotive sector, ideally in industrial services, launch support, series quality, or vehicle repair.

• You can demonstrate proven success in the commercial management of services (revenue, margin, budget).

• You are a pragmatic, present leadership personality with several years of experience in leading managers and decentralized project teams (multi-site).

• You combine technical understanding with commercial strength, confidently interact at management level with OEMs, and are willing to travel extensively throughout Germany.
