Technical Buyer

Do you enjoy playing a key role in the purchasing process of critical technical products and services? Then the role of Technical Buyer is for you. Below is a selection of your responsibilities:

• Responsible for the entire spectrum from sourcing to category management, supplier relations, and coordinating operational purchasing.
• Overseeing purchases for consumables as investment goods within technical goods and services.
• Collaborating with the technical department and suppliers to find the best long-term solutions.
• Determining purchasing strategy per category and managing the purchasing process for technical goods and services.
• Liaising between the technical warehouse, maintenance department, and project department.
• Close collaboration with the quality and EHS team to ensure all suppliers comply with current regulations.
• You are also the primary point of contact for technical departments, maintenance departments, and the technical warehouse. With your technical expertise, strong negotiation skills, and commercial acumen, you directly contribute to the growth and optimization of processes.
• You report directly to the Supply Chain & Procurement Manager.

For this role, we are looking for an experienced Technical Buyer with the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably within purchasing or technical sales of goods or services.
• Technical knowledge of products such as valves, pumps, piping, mechanical components, and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I),...
• A bachelor's or engineering degree, but relevant work experience is considered equivalent.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a strong commercial mindset.
• Analytical skills and the ability to make technical translations and propose alternative solutions.
• Proficiency in independently searching for suppliers, evaluating quotes, and setting up tenders.
• You work meticulously and are skilled at managing your files.
• Fluent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• A proactive team player with strong communication skills.
