Head of Accounts Payable (m/f/d)

Our client is a company in the field of renewable energies and raw material extraction that works on future-oriented technologies for a sustainable industry. With an international team of around 400 employees from over 40 countries, it develops and operates innovative production facilities to make an important contribution to the environmentally friendly energy and mobility transition.

Your Responsibilities

• Technical and operational responsibility for accounts payable and ensuring the timely and correct processing of incoming invoices and payments

• Technical leadership, support, and further development of the accounts payable team

• Ensuring compliance with internal guidelines, control and release processes, as well as relevant accounting standards

• Responsibility for account reconciliations, payment runs, and analysis of outstanding liabilities, as well as clarification of supplier inquiries and complaints

• Support for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements through reconciliations and analyses

• Continuous optimization and automation of processes, as well as participation in audits, ERP implementations, and finance transformation projects

Your Profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in accounts payable, as well as initial or several years of leadership experience and demonstrable experience in team development

• Sound knowledge of accounting according to HGB and IFRS, as well as a deep understanding of accounts payable

• Proficient in the use of ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA; DATEV knowledge is an advantage

• Experience with payment runs, vendor master data, account reconciliations, and conducting analyses

• Experience in supporting audits and ensuring compliance requirements, as well as proficient use of Excel
