Become part of and take responsibility for the technical leadership and further development of our 24/7 technical operations team.

As Team Lead Datacenter Operations, you will be responsible for the technical leadership, empowerment, and further development of employees in the 24/7 technical back office. You will ensure the consistent and quality-assured implementation of monitoring, alarm processing, incident and change processes, as well as interface communication. At the same time, you will ensure high operational readiness and a uniform quality level through robust shift planning, targeted competence development, and practical exercises.

The role generally operates outside of a fixed shift rotation. To remain close to operational activities and the team, you will regularly participate in different shifts – including night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Your Area of Responsibility

• You lead, guide, and support the Datacenter Operations Team in daily business and conduct team, feedback, and development discussions.

• You identify competence gaps, derive suitable development and qualification measures, and accompany onboarding, practical instructions, and competence assessments.

• You develop and maintain the training and competence management for the 24/7 technical back office and ensure practical knowledge transfer.

• You plan and coordinate incident drills and emergency exercises, evaluate them, and ensure that lessons learned are translated into concrete improvement measures.

• You are responsible for needs-based and transparent shift and duty planning and ensure the required staffing and competence coverage.

• You support with demanding incidents, escalations, and changes and ensure clear and target-group-oriented communication.

• You review the quality of operational processes, identify deviations and risks, and track improvement measures until implementation.

• You work closely with Datacenter Operations Management, Service Desk, Service Management Excellence, Operations Excellence, and other technical and organizational units.

Your Skills

• Completed technical or commercial apprenticeship, ideally supplemented by further training in leadership, technology, operational organization, or service management.

• Experience in 24/7 shift operations, preferably in a data center or comparable critical infrastructure.

• Experience in technical or personnel leadership, as well as in training and further development of employees.

• Good knowledge of incident, change, escalation, and process management, as well as experience with shift planning, exercises, and drills.

• Very good communication skills and a confident demeanor towards employees, managers, customers, and external partners.

• Fluent German skills as well as very good English skills in speaking and writing.

• Strong organizational skills, sense of responsibility, resilience, and solution-oriented thinking.

• Knowledge of monitoring, SCADA, BMS, DCIM, or service management systems is an advantage.
