Team Leader IT (m/f/d)

As a Team Leader IT (m/f/d), you are the bridge between management level and the teams who are hands-on in the action. You bring a lot of experience as a Senior System Engineer and are not afraid of leadership responsibility or even have prior experience. You will administer, migrate, and harden our systems – and simultaneously build a powerful team for our internal IT. You will assume technical and disciplinary leadership for IT-Helpdesk (1st Level) and IT-Infrastructure & Operations (Servers, Network, Cloud) while working closely with our CIO.

• Technical and disciplinary leadership of a compact team of 6-8 people currently being built (Helpdesk and Infrastructure) – as a leader who can also roll up their sleeves and get involved
• Administration of our heterogeneous server landscape: Linux (approx. 70-80%) and Windows, around 100 VMs, as well as individual bare-metal servers
• Technical control and, if necessary, operational involvement in the ongoing migration from VMware ESXi to Proxmox VE, including the replacement of outdated legacy systems and applications
• Support and further development of our network infrastructure (firewalls, switching, VPN), including the connection of our two data centers and other locations
• Involvement in our hybrid Exchange/M365 environment (on-premises, Entra ID) as well as resolving existing legacy issues (e.g., Split Brain DNS, File Servers)
• Responsibility for various IT projects, e.g., the ongoing introduction of Intune for our mixed endpoint landscape (macOS/Windows)
• Resource and capacity planning within the team, as well as management of external IT service providers who complement us
• Introduction and optimization of IT policies, workflows, and processes, as well as implementation of IT security standards according to ISO 27001 and KRITIS requirements
• Collaboration with our Dev team, network IT, and specialist departments

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field – alternatively, equivalent knowledge and practical experience
• Several years of experience as a System Engineer/Administrator, ideally with initial experience in the technical or disciplinary leadership of a small team
• You have actively administered systems yourself in recent years – you do not come from a pure people management role, but want to remain technically close to the action
• Practical experience with virtualization (VMware and/or Proxmox), in-depth Linux administration, and basic knowledge of Windows Server environments
• Experience with Active Directory/Entra ID or Exchange hybrid scenarios, as well as with standard network technology (firewalls, VPN, routing)
• Familiarity with legal requirements and best practices, ideally in the KRITIS environment
• Strong communication skills, decisiveness, and team orientation, combined with the desire to actively shape a team in development
• Fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken
