As the Team Lead Backoffice & Operations, you will lead our six-person Backoffice team and, together with your employees, ensure that our financing rounds, investments, and operational processes function reliably. Companisto is the leading business angel network in the DACH region and the European Union. Over 190,000 investors and more than 6,500 business angels invest in innovative startups through our network – from the seed to the growth phase.

Our Backoffice Operations Team forms the operational backbone of our investment business. Here, we ensure that financing rounds are professionally executed, investments are reliably managed, and our portfolio companies and investors receive excellent support at all times.

Your Mission

You will take on the functional and disciplinary leadership of our six-person Backoffice Operations Team. Together with your team, you will ensure that our operational processes function efficiently, reliably, and with a service-oriented approach. You will develop employees, set priorities, coordinate complex topics, and drive the continuous optimization of our workflows. During your onboarding, you will work closely with our deputy team lead, who has excellent knowledge of our processes and team and will provide you with technical support.

Your Responsibilities

• Functional and disciplinary leadership of a six-person team

• Conducting one-on-ones as well as employee and development discussions

• Fostering and further developing your employees

• Prioritizing and managing complex operational topics

• Ensuring smooth day-to-day operational business

• Analyzing, optimizing, and further developing existing processes

• Developing suitable key performance indicators and standards for team management

• Independently leading cross-functional projects

• Close collaboration with the Legal, Investment, Customer Relations, and Marketing teams

• Ensuring service-oriented support for our portfolio companies and investors

What You Bring

You are a leader who takes responsibility, works in a structured manner, and inspires people to achieve common goals.

Furthermore, you impress with:

• Several years of experience in leading an operations, backoffice, or service team

• Experience in process management and optimization of operational workflows

• Strong organizational skills and a structured, pragmatic way of working

• Decisiveness and the ability to maintain an overview even with many parallel tasks

• Enjoyment in developing employees and fostering potential

• High service orientation and strong communication skills

• Experience in a scale-up, FinTech, or technology-oriented company is an advantage

• Interest in venture capital, startups, and innovative business models

• A basic understanding of regulatory or corporate law processes is helpful, but not a prerequisite

• Proficient use of digital tools such as Asana, Zendesk, Slack, or comparable systems

• Very good German language skills and good English language skills

Prior knowledge in venture capital is explicitly not required. We will provide you with comprehensive training on our topics.
