Team Leader

At Decathlon, we kickstart your journey as a Team Leader. This is a high-speed traineeship where we prepare you to run your own store as a Store Leader within 3 to 5 years.

Your Role

• Ownership: You are the entrepreneur of your own sports department. From inventory strategy to coaching your team, you have full control over growth and results.

• Lead your team: You recruit, coach, and motivate your own team. You see talent and help them (and yourself) reach the next level.

• Run the business: You determine how sports can be commercially deployed in your department. From great merchandising and inventory management to the commercial strategy.

• Make an impact: You increase customer satisfaction and sustainable impact. You guide your team towards proactive service and translate our sustainability goals (such as selling circular product lines) to the shop floor.

• Next level moves: You determine your own growth path within our company. Whether you want to grow into a Store Manager role, aspire to an expert role in our warehouse in Tilburg, or want to move to head office, Decathlon helps you grow.

This Talent You Bring

• Learning by doing: You don't need to have prior experience as a leader yet (although it's a plus). Your right attitude is essential for this job.

• Sport is your lifestyle: You are truly in your element when you can talk about sports.

• Communicative leader: You speak excellent Dutch (and a bit of English is a nice bonus).

• Ambition at level 100: You are ready for the real work and want to make quick progress within Retail (HBO (Higher Professional Education) thinking level helps you with this, but MBO-4 (Secondary Vocational Education) with a winning mentality is also great).

• People person: You are sociable and know how to get your colleagues, as well as customers, enthusiastic.

• Full focus: You are on fire for 38 hours a week and willing to work a weekend day and/or an evening, because that's when the action happens in retail.
