Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week About the role We are seeking an exceptional Team Leader – Local History to lead our Local History team, providing strategic guidance and support to ensure the effective management of our archival collections and programs. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing strategies for the preservation and promotion of local history • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deliver engaging local history programs and events • Providing expert advice on local history matters to Council staff and the community • Managing a small team of Local History staff, providing guidance and support as needed • Maintaining accurate records and reports on archival collections and programs Requirements Essential: • Bachelor's degree in History, Museum Studies or related field • 3+ years' experience in a similar role or relevant industry • Strong understanding of local history and its significance to the community • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong organizational and time management skills • Familiarity with archival collections and preservation practices Desirable: • Postgraduate degree in History, Museum Studies or related field • Experience working in a local government or museum setting • Knowledge of digital technologies and their application in archives and museums What we offer Competitive salary package • 35 hours per week permanent full-time position • Opportunities for professional development and growth • Collaborative and supportive work environment • Access to Waverley Library's extensive archival collection and resources If you are passionate about local history and have a strong desire to make a difference, please apply now!
