Your purpose at Kertos

As Team Lead Privacy, you will shape the future of data protection with us. You will lead a team of experienced Privacy Experts and jointly develop new ways for companies to implement data protection more efficiently, scalably, and practically. With your deep privacy know-how, you will understand our customers' challenges and work closely with Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams to translate data protection knowledge into intelligent, technology-supported solutions. You are interested in looking beyond the core of GDPR to related regulations like ISO 27701 or the EU AI Act and identifying new requirements early on with your team. In this way, you will contribute to making data protection a genuine advantage of trust and competition, rather than just a complex regulatory obligation.

Your responsibilities

• You will lead and develop our team of Privacy Experts, provide technical direction, and create an environment where excellence, customer orientation, and innovative spirit come together. As a Team Lead at Kertos, this means: You are close to the action, actively participate in customer conversations, and get hands-on operationally, rather than just coordinating.

• You will set the technical and strategic direction for our data protection area and continuously evolve our expert and product approaches.

• You will support customers as a strategic sparring partner on topics such as GDPR, data protection management, TOMs, AVVs, DSFs, and other privacy-related issues, across various industries and company sizes, from SaaS companies to Health- and Legal-Tech, as well as SMEs and mid-sized businesses.

• You will identify regulatory developments early and translate them into opportunities for our customers, our product, and our market position.

• You will have a good understanding of technical integrations, automations, and AI technologies such as LLMs, and support your team in using them specifically for genuine customer value.

• You will actively contribute your data protection expertise to the further development of our data protection management software and help to radically simplify complex data protection processes.

• You will work closely with Sales and Customer Success on strategic customer projects and ensure that the voice of our customers directly influences product decisions.

• You will establish scalable standards, processes, and best practices that enable sustainable growth of data protection know-how and customer success.

The skills, motivation, and mentality you should bring

• You have several years of in-depth experience in data protection and are familiar with the requirements of GDPR and related regulatory topics from practical experience, ideally in the SaaS or technology environment.

• A legal background is not a must, but it is advantageous, especially when it comes to making complex regulatory requirements understandable for customers and internal teams.

• You combine regulatory expertise with a pragmatic view of our customers' realities and develop solutions that make compliance easier, more efficient, and more effective.

• You are comfortable at the interface of data protection, technology, and product, and enjoy translating complex challenges into intuitive and scalable solutions.

• You are enthusiastic about new technologies, especially AI, automation, and LLMs, and recognize their potential to reshape the future of data protection.

• You communicate complex data protection topics clearly and understandably, from customers to internal teams to management.

• You enjoy developing people, sharing knowledge, and empowering a team to grow together, without losing operational focus.

• You take responsibility, question existing processes, and independently drive topics forward with a pragmatic, hands-on mentality.
