The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is a part of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, providing cyber security services to all New Zealanders. Our vision is a New Zealand where good cyber security happens, everywhere, all the time, by everyone.
The role
The Team Lead Policy and Systems manages policy analysts focussed on driving meaningful change to improve cyber security across economy with a focus on Government and Critical Infrastructure. The team lead works closely with the Team Lead Standards and Research and the Principal Information Security Advisor. The work includes responsibility for leading support to the Government’s Chief Information Security Officer, the Director General of the GCSB.
The Team Lead plays a critical role in leading engagement with other System Leads in data and digital (particularly working closely with the Government Digital Delivery Agency). The role is also responsible for leading engagement internally and across the system to make sure policy and investment advice reflects the unique information available to the NCSC.
Key Responsibilities: * Guide and mentor a high-performing team of analysts by managing daily workloads, tracking deliverables, and fostering personal career development. * Drive cross-agency collaboration with digital system leaders to align multi-government security policies and maximize national security impacts. * Oversee high-quality outputs including briefings and advice that helps key decision makers internally and externally. * Manage vital partnerships with public agencies, global allies, and technology vendors to stay ahead of emerging network vulnerabilities. * Support information security prioritisation for major state information communication technology investments and cloud framework rollouts. Who we’re looking for: * Experienced supervisor with several years working within information security and/or public landscapes. * Articulate communicator who conveys intricate, technical details clearly through both speech and writing to varied audiences. * Proactive self-starter capable of managing competing priorities and meeting independent deadlines smoothly. * Analytical problem-solver with good forward planning and tracking skills, and a proven track record of making sound, well-reasoned decisions. * Collaborative team player focused on fostering a supportive, inclusive, and cooperative workplace environment. * Tech-driven learner with a strong passion for cyber security, eager to expand their knowledge or build upon an existing IT foundation. * Customer-centric professional who thrives on engaging directly with clients and external stakeholders. * Qualified specialist holding a tertiary degree alongside a firm grasp of policy processes. The apponting salary range for this position is $120,359 - $128,383.
