About the Role We’re seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to lead direct tax compliance, tax accounting, and complex advisory for a multi-entity South African group. You’ll steer the tax calendar, own SARS interactions end-to-end, and deliver clear, defensible positions on evolving legislation. The role blends hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking, as you navigate the ever-changing landscape of tax regulations. Key responsibilities include: • Leading direct tax compliance for a multi-entity South African group, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to SARS. • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies. • Providing expert advice on complex tax matters, leveraging your deep understanding of South African tax laws and regulations. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and optimize financial performance. • Staying up-to-date with evolving legislation and regulatory changes, identifying opportunities for process improvements and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Tax Manager with: • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; • At least 5 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, and advisory; • Strong technical skills in South African tax laws and regulations; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
