About Our Client
A number of boutique through to large global public practice accountancy firms in New Zealand are currently looking for:
These roles involve assisting multiple teams in ensuring accurate and timely compliance with tax regulations, supporting day-to-day office operations, and helping the teams deliver an excellent client experience. The ideal candidates will have strong organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
You could be overseeing accounts receivable and payable, managing onboarding and leave records, assisting with staff training, maintaining filing deadlines and compliance, or supporting IT with office software and cloud accounting systems. These positions are perfect for people who are organised, adaptable, and ready to take ownership while supporting a busy accounting team.
Please note: you need to have at least 1 year of experience working in a New Zealand public practice chartered accountancy firm, and you must have the right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing various tax returns, ensuring compliance with New Zealand tax regulations.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain organised and up-to-date tax records, client files, and administrative documentation.
- Client Communication: Collect necessary information from clients and resolve inquiries regarding tax and compliance matters.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with accountants and office teams to ensure smooth coordination of tasks.
- Office and Practice Management: Support day-to-day office operations, including staff onboarding, leave management, training, and process improvements.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficiency gains in administrative, tax, or practice workflows.
- Educational Background: NZ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field – preferred but not required.
- Experience: At least 1 year of NZ experience in a public practice Tax/Office/Practice administration role. Familiarity with tax software and financial accounting systems is an advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Team Player: Collaborative and proactive approach to work.
- Adaptability: Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
