Tactical Buyer Battery Systems

Do you want to make a real impact as a buyer in a technical environment? At VDL Energy Systems, you will help build innovative battery systems and help professionalize our purchasing organization. Together with your colleague, you will ensure that the right components are available at the right time and work on a future-proof supplier strategy.

Your role as a tactical buyer

As a Tactical Buyer, you don't just purchase components for our battery systems. You also actively contribute to the energy transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy. You operate at the intersection of technology, commerce, and supplier management. You look beyond the daily purchasing needs and actively think about the optimal supplier strategy. You work in a growing organization where the purchasing department is being expanded. Currently, tactical purchasing is handled by one colleague, which is why we are looking for reinforcement from someone who works independently and also enjoys collaborating.

• You select, evaluate, and develop suppliers
• You negotiate price, quality, and delivery agreements
• You draft, manage, and monitor supplier contracts
• You identify risks and opportunities within the supply chain
• You develop and execute tactical purchasing strategies
• You work intensively with colleagues from technology, operations, and project teams
• You contribute to the further professionalization of the purchasing process

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree level of work and thinking
• 3 to 5 years of experience in tactical purchasing
• Affinity with technology
• Experience with negotiation and supplier management
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages

You are analytically strong, maintain an overview, and know how to get suppliers moving. You dare to make choices and feel at home in a technical environment.

What we offer

• A salary between € 3,700 and € 5,200 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience
