Carpenter/Formworker

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: $40 to $50

• Interpreting construction plans and specifications to identify necessary materials, measurements, and installation techniques
• Procuring and selecting appropriate timber and materials, and preparing detailed layout designs
• Cutting, shaping, and assembling materials, followed by securing components through nailing and other methods
• Constructing structural elements such as frameworks, roof structures, sub-floors, and floorboards, while ensuring accuracy and alignment
• Installing fascia boards, roof sheathing, external wall cladding, and fitting doors and window frames
• Assembling prefabricated wooden components into complete structures and fixtures for installation
• Crafting precise wood joints to support structural integrity
• May be responsible for building concrete formwork as part of the construction process
• May perform maintenance or repairs on existing fittings and structures
• May utilize alternative materials such as plastic laminates, Perspex, and various metals depending on project requirement.

Concreter

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: $40 to $50

• Analyses and interprets construction plans and specifications to understand project requirements
• Determines the precise amount and type of concrete necessary for each stage of the project
• Supervises and manages the daily activities of labourers working with concrete
• Prepares and sets up the site for concrete pouring, ensuring it is cleared, levelled, and ready
• Installs reinforcement materials, such as rebar, to ensure the structural integrity of the concrete
• Mixes and pours concrete into designated areas as specified by the project plans
• Uses tools like screeds and trowels to evenly spread and level the concrete surface
• Finishes concrete surfaces to meet desired texture and aesthetic standards
• Implements proper curing techniques to ensure the concrete hardens and remains durable
• May build and install formwork to support and shape the concrete during the curing process
