Systems Engineer
Location: Ponsonby, Auckland
Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our IT team and play a key role in managing our hybrid infrastructure. This position will see you designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient on-premises and Azure cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across Windows and Linux platforms.
You’ll be hands-on with servers, virtualization, networking, Microsoft 365, and automation workflows, while also driving process improvements and ensuring documentation is up to date. This role also offers variety — from managing day-to-day operations through to contributing to key projects — and may occasionally involve after-hours work to support upgrades, incidents, or project delivery.
This is a full time permanent role, based out of our central Ponsonby office.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Windows and Linux servers including patching, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Manage network changes for switching, Wi-Fi, routers and Firewalls
- Proactively identity and address security risks in timely manner.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online)
- Maintain Azure Runbooks, PowerShell scripts and automation workflows
- Documentation and process optimization
- This role may involve after-hours work on occasion to support system maintenance, incident response or project delivery
