About the team The Ecosystem team builds and maintains the infrastructure that powers Canva's integrations with external services. This includes everything from the APIs and authentication systems that allow third-party apps to connect to Canva, to the systems that manage our marketplace and the distribution of content. Our mission is to enable a thriving ecosystem of partners and developers, making it easy for them to build on top of Canva and extend its functionality. As a Systems Engineer in the Ecosystem team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports these integrations. You will work closely with other engineers on the team, as well as with product managers and designers, to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable systems. What you'll do Design, build, and maintain infrastructure for Canva's ecosystem integrations. Write clean, well-documented code in a variety of languages (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript). Work with APIs, authentication, and authorization systems. Monitor and troubleshoot production systems. Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents. Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and designers. What we're looking for Experience with building and maintaining production systems. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP). Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana). Strong understanding of networking and security principles. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Bonus points if you have: Experience with API design and development. Experience with authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth, OpenID Connect). Experience with event-driven architectures. Experience with DevOps practices.
