System Engineer:in / System Architect for Large Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) (m/w/d)

Tasks

Your tasks

• Technical expert for commercial and large-scale energy storage (C&I and Utility-Scale BESS) on a system level.
• Technical interface between development, product management, service, production, and quality assurance.
• Design of BESS components.
• Responsibility and project management for the development of new BESS or BESS components throughout the entire development process (from the idea phase to production).
• Ensuring quality and product standards.
• Collaboration with hardware-, software-, quality assurance-, sales-, and procurement teams as well as suppliers.
• Error analysis and derivation of improvement solutions.
• Potential creation and co-creation of commissioning and maintenance instructions.
• Representation at conferences, associations, and standardization committees.

Qualification

Your profile

• A high level of self-motivation and enthusiasm to establish yourself as a leading technical expert in the field of commercial and/or large-scale energy storage solutions.
• Bachelor's or master's degree (Master or Dipl.-Ing.) in electrical engineering, energy technology, mechatronics, or comparable, with extensive experience (>5 years, preferably 10 years) as a system engineer in the field of energy systems, preferably battery storage.
• Knowledge about battery storage, energy management systems, inverters, or power grids is necessary.
• Knowledge about designing the most important components of a BESS and experience with corresponding software programs (e.g. HOMER, SAM, PowerFactory, SolidWorks, etc.) is advantageous.
• Readiness to take responsibility for developing BESS or components and lead an accordingly team.
• Practical laboratory/tester experience and experience handling electrical equipment (BESS) is advantageous.
• Solution-oriented, result-open working style.
• Analytical understanding to solve new problems.
• Good communication skills and ability to work successfully with different stakeholders regarding department, seniority, and cultural background.
• Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking.
