What You Can Expect

• In this key role, you will design future-proof system architectures, integrate modern technologies and ensure security, performance and scalability with the help of architecture principles, governance models and best practices.
• You are responsible for building the Virtual Data Center as a Service, ensuring the connection to hyperscalers and European cloud providers, integrating Identity & Access Management solutions and developing self-contained API integrations and self-service functions for customers.
• In the context of service operation, you will introduce observability concepts, monitor SLAs/SLOs, perform troubleshooting and support 2nd/3rd-level support.
• To implement security requirements, you will set up and maintain backups, disaster recoveries and business continuity strategies, and conduct risk analyses and penetration tests in collaboration with the Security teams.
• You will advise customers and internal stakeholders on cloud architectures and operating models, train administrators, developers and architects, and create technical documentation.

What You Bring

• A completed university degree in (business) informatics or a comparable qualification.
• Multiple years of experience in system architecture and the operation of complex cloud infrastructures, ideally in the education or public sector.
• Fundamental knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenStack) as well as Kubernetes/containerization and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automation and configuration management tools.
• A deep understanding of networks, IT security, zero-trust architectures and identity management.
• Experience with API management, service mesh technologies and hybrid integration scenarios.
• A high ability to communicate complex issues and convince different stakeholders.
• Very good German and English skills in writing and speaking.
