System Administrator – IT Security & Endpoint Management
Job description
Campact e.V. is looking for a
System Administrator – IT Security & Endpoint Management
to start as soon as possible, with 39 hours per week, to be worked from home (nationwide)
fixed-term for 2 years
Campact e.V. is a campaign organization with which over 4.5 million people are resolutely committed to progressive politics and defending our democracy. When important political decisions are pending, we launch campaigns – digitally and on the street. We forge broad alliances and mobilize a strong movement for the common cause. Our campaigns drive socio-ecological progress and defend our democracy. In order to create a just society in which all people can live safely and self-determinedly in peace and freedom.
To strengthen our current three-person user support team, we are looking for a System Administrator – IT Security & Endpoint Management to start as soon as possible.
As a modern employer, Campact relies on digitalization and flexibility – which is why our employees work almost exclusively from a subsidized home office or co-working space. Teamwork is done via email, chat, video, and telephone conferences. To foster our good team spirit, we enable regular in-person meetings and expect a willingness to travel for our team retreats. In addition to the Campact office in Verden/Aller, which serves partly as a point of contact, we also expect a willingness to travel when on-site support is necessary.
Your Responsibilities
With Campact, people move politics together. With your work, you keep the team's back free and support colleagues with technical challenges. Together with your team, you will provide support in the areas of data protection and information security. For this, you will work closely with the individuals responsible for digital security and data protection.
You will actively participate in incident response, assist with post-incident reviews of security incidents, and with the implementation of risk mitigation measures (e.g., phishing/malware/0-days).
You will assist with risk assessments and implement risk reduction measures, and actively participate in the creation and maintenance of policies, processes, and documentation in the area of information security.
You will evaluate new and existing applications for IT security and compliance requirements and assist with their integration into our mobile device management system, and will manage them together with your team.
You will support the introduction of new internal services, communicate with internal and external contacts, and manage our existing internal systems (such as IAM, mailboxes, mailing lists).
You will be responsible for the procurement and setup of hardware (notebooks, tablets, mobile phones) and software.
You will support users with everyday problems with hardware and software.
Our Offer
You will make a direct contribution to the positive change of politics and society, to social justice, ecological sustainability, tolerance, and equality.
You will receive remuneration in accordance with TVöD pay grade 10 and 31 vacation days.
We offer you a variety of attractive social benefits, including monthly child supplements (for full-time employment, e.g., €493.20 for the 1st child).
Through a home office allowance, we subsidize the equipment for healthy and productive remote work.
During peak periods, it may occur that you are active or on call on weekends or evenings. We value that you can compensate for overtime and subsidize weekend and holiday work. The compatibility of work and private life is important to us at Campact e.V. Together with the works council, we have created a distribution logic that allows us to consider individual needs while being able to react promptly and flexibly to political events.
In the team, we work together to remain successful and effective in the long term. This ranges from transparent communication and an appreciative and open feedback and leadership culture to celebrating our joint successes.
For your individual health, we enable exchange opportunities with coaches and psychologists, as well as a subsidized Hansefit membership with a variety of health offers.
We are an innovative employer with around 150 nice colleagues and a great working atmosphere – whether remotely or at regular team events.
We focus on comprehensive onboarding, including through mentors, and enable you to pursue many further training opportunities.
Campact e.V. is an NGO that operates independently of political and economic interests; transparency is of great importance to us. (Click here for the current transparency report).
Our profile description contains a variety of very different competencies that we consider relevant for this position. Please apply even if not all points apply to you – we can discuss everything else in a joint conversation.
You have completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the mentioned area of responsibility, or a comparable qualification.
You have gained (initial) experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), and are familiar with working with SIEM and IAM systems.
You can identify automatable processes and can easily implement them as Python, Shell script, or Low-Code.
You know macOS inside and out, and ideally also have experience in supporting Windows and Linux environments.
You have experience with Mobile Device Management systems such as JAMF.
You enjoy working with people and have a solution-oriented and empathetic approach to your work.
You take responsibility for your tasks; data protection and security are essential for you.
You already have experience in NGOs or are involved in politics and can name a reference person from this environment for your political or social engagement.
You identify with the values and work of Campact.
Are you up for this challenge? Then upload your CV (without a photo, stating your pronoun to be addressed by, and your reference person) to our applicant management system.
Instead of a cover letter, briefly answer the following two questions (maximum half a page):
Why are you applying for this position?
How can you contribute to the security of our organization?
Campact e.V. is convinced that societal change is necessary and possible. In this context, we as an organization must also continue to evolve – in order to better commit ourselves to a world in which all people equally realize their freedom. This also requires change in our personnel structure. We particularly invite individuals with experiences of discrimination to apply.
The process is multi-stage, includes a sample task, an interview with subject matter experts and HR colleagues, and an introductory interview with the team lead and management. The entire process should be completed by the end of October.
