System Administrator (m/f/d) IT Security and Infrastructure

For an established company in the regulated financial and pension environment, we are looking for a System Administrator (m/f/d) in Cologne, who will ensure secure, stable, and future-proof IT operations, starting as soon as possible.

Our client is an established company from the financial and pension sector, combining long-term stability with modern IT structures. Responsibilities

• You will continuously administer and develop the existing Fortinet security landscape.
• You will operate and monitor FortiGate firewalls as well as the FortiMail email security gateway.
• You will manage and optimize CrowdStrike Falcon EDR/XDR and other security solutions.
• You will analyze security alerts, conduct security analyses, and support incident response measures.
• You will operate the vulnerability management platform Mondoo and conduct vulnerability scans and risk analyses.
• You will administer Windows Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure / Entra ID.
• You will manage network and VPN infrastructures and support patch and change management.
• You will create reports and technical documentation for IT management, general management, and external auditors.
• You will provide support for audits and regulatory requirements, particularly in the context of DORA.
• You will take on tasks in 2nd and 3rd level support and resolve more complex technical issues.
• You will actively participate in IT security and infrastructure projects.
• You will coordinate collaboration with external IT service providers and manufacturers.

Qualifications

• You have completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration or have a comparable IT qualification.
• You have several years of professional experience in system administration, IT infrastructure, or IT security.
• You have good knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate and FortiMail.
• You have experience with CrowdStrike Falcon and ideally with Mondoo.
• You have solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
• You ideally have knowledge of CheckMK, SIEM/SOC solutions, Veeam, or other backup systems.
• You ideally have experience with Hyper-V, Microsoft Intune, PowerShell, or Jira Service Management.
• You work analytically, structured, and enjoy taking independent responsibility.
• You convince with strong service orientation and a solution-oriented work approach.
• You communicate confidently and enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and external contacts.
