System/Network Administrator (m/w/d) - 1406

We are looking to strengthen our IT team by hiring a System/ Network Administrator / (m/w/d) to manage and develop a modern network and security infrastructure. In addition to classical network tasks, you will work closely with scientific teams and support the setup of high-performance IT environments for data-intensive applications and research projects.

Tasks

• Administration, configuration, and monitoring of network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN)
• Planning, operation, and optimization of active and passive network components
• Maintenance and development of firewall and security solutions
• Setup and development of IT security and monitoring systems
• Automation of installation and configuration processes
• Support for setting up and operating research data management systems
• Collaboration with project and research teams to provide suitable IT infrastructure
• Development of scalable network solutions for data-intensive workflows

Qualification

• Fundamental knowledge in Layer-2/Layer-3 networks
• Experience in administering switches, routers, and firewalls
• Good knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration
• Experience with monitoring solutions (e.g. Icinga, Nagios)
• Knowledge of automation (e.g. Ansible, Salt) as well as scripting (Bash, Python)
• Experience with virtualization and container technologies (e.g. VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Structured work style and team and communication skills
