System Engineer (m/f/d)

Tasks

With us, you will…

• Operate and further develop our private cloud platform based on CloudStack, KVM, and Dell PowerFlex

• Automate infrastructure processes with Ansible, Terraform, Git, Bash, and Python

• Contribute to the target architecture for our future platform

• Analyze, standardize, and document existing infrastructure components

• Support topics related to compute, storage, network, monitoring, and backup

Qualifications

What you bring…

• A degree in fields such as (Business) Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Digitalization, or an apprenticeship in the IT sector.

• Practical experience with Linux servers, virtualization, and private cloud infrastructures, ideally with KVM, Apache CloudStack, or OpenStack

• Good understanding of storage and block storage solutions, ideally in the environment of Dell PowerFlex, Software-defined Storage, or comparable platforms

• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Ansible, Terraform, and Git

• Proficiency in scripting, especially Bash and Python

• Basic understanding of network topics such as VLANs, routing, firewalling, load balancing, or IP addressing

• Enjoy analyzing, standardizing, and gradually improving existing infrastructure

• Independent, structured way of working and the willingness to learn new technologies

Advantageous, but not strictly required:

• Experience with Dell PowerFlex, CloudStack, or OpenStack in productive operation

• Knowledge of Go or an interest in developing smaller tools and automations with it

• Experience with monitoring, logging, or backup concepts

• Exposure to public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
