Mō te tūranga mahi – about the role
As a System Engineer, you will be crucial to the technology that supports the organisation. This includes designing, deploying, and fine‑tuning both Windows and Linux infrastructure while delivering end‑to‑end business solutions.
You will get to work across hardware, storage, software integration, and networking projects, as well as being the go‑to person for keeping everything running smoothly—handling incident response, troubleshooting, change management, preventative maintenance, and full‑lifecycle support.
This role gives you the chance to shape a resilient, high‑performing environment, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and continuously broaden your expertise on a diverse tech stack, all while making a tangible impact on the success of our organisation.

You will be a team player, who enjoys collaborative working in an open plan environment. This role will require you to be a confident communicator, as well as have strong problem-solving skills, as you will regularly engage with teams and partners to discuss requirements and provide solutions.
You will bring along your experience in:
* Microsoft Azure
* M365 and Teams management
* PowerShell and Python
* Windows or Linux system administration
* Troubleshooting
While our teams have their specific focuses, we work collaboratively on a variety of projects and initiatives, so the ideal candidate will be adaptable and comfortable working with different technologies.
The expected appointing range for this position is between $103,009 - $109,876 per annum.

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
* Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
* Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
* Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
