You will strengthen our highly motivated team of experts in the fight against cybersecurity threats. Together with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and Network Engineers, you will plan and operate our state-of-the-art defense platforms. These are the backbone for protecting our hosting products and infrastructures – from classic DDoS mitigation to modern Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Zero Trust strategies to our Content Delivery Network (CDN). Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Administration: Administration and troubleshooting of highly available, complex infrastructures – including participation in a shared on-call rotation.
• Platform Optimization: Further development and optimization of distributed DDoS defense platforms as well as associated analysis and visualization mechanisms.
• Threat & Trend Analysis: Monitoring of systems, analysis of security attacks, and active tracking of current industry and security trends.
• Tech Evaluation & Innovation: Evaluation of new technologies and products, as well as development and implementation of new features for international setups.
• DevOps & Lifecycle: Support of our company goals through efficient operational architecture, active lifecycle management, and lean processes in an agile DevOps environment.
• CI/CD Automation: Conception, setup, and further development of CI/CD pipelines and supporting technical processes.

Qualifications

• Foundation: Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification or vocational training.
• Linux & Security Passion: Several years of experience in administering complex, distributed Linux systems and a strong interest in Cybersecurity with sound network knowledge.
• Reverse Proxy & WAF: Demonstrable experience in configuring and operating Nginx as a reverse proxy or Web Application Firewall.
• Routing Expertise: Hands-on experience in implementing BGP, Flowspec, and Anycast routing on Linux systems and network routers.
• Automation Mindset: Passion for automation with tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Python to consistently eliminate manual, repetitive tasks.
• Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills for evaluating DDoS attacks, implementing effective countermeasures, and continuously developing our defense platforms.
• Tech Stack (Bonus): Initial experience with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, or the ELK Stack is a plus.
• Open Source Spirit: You share our enthusiasm for open-source technologies, especially Linux.
• Languages: Fluent English skills, both written and spoken (German language skills are a plus).
