Sustainable Development Manager

Job Title: Sustainable Development Manager - Mining - North West Location: North West, South Africa The Sustainable Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all mining operations in the North West region are conducted in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. This position will be based in North West, South Africa and will report to the Head of Sustainable Development. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement sustainable development strategies for mining operations in the North West region, taking into account social, economic and environmental impacts. - Collaborate with stakeholders, including local communities, NGOs, government agencies and other relevant parties to ensure that all mining activities are conducted in a responsible manner. - Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards related to sustainable development. - Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, NGOs, government agencies and other relevant parties. - Provide technical assistance and support to mining operations in the North West region to ensure that they are conducted in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. - Monitor and report on the social, economic and environmental impacts of mining operations in the North West region. - Develop and implement measures to mitigate any negative impacts of mining operations on the environment and local communities. - Ensure that all mining activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards related to sustainable development. - Provide guidance and support to other departments within the organization to ensure that they are aware of and comply with sustainable development principles and practices. - Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all mining operations in the North West region, including their social, economic and environmental impacts. - Collaborate with other departments within the organization to develop and implement measures to improve the sustainability of mining operations in the North West region. - Provide technical assistance and support to local communities and NGOs to ensure that they are aware of and comply with sustainable development principles and practices. - Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all stakeholders involved in mining operations in the North West region, including their social, economic and environmental impacts. - Collaborate with other departments within the organization to develop and implement measures to improve the sustainability of mining operations in the North West region. - Provide technical assistance and support to local communities and NGOs to ensure that they are aware of and comply with sustainable development principles and practices.
