About GenusPlus Group
GenusPlus Group (ASX:GNP) is an end-to-end service provider for essential power and telecommunications infrastructure. We provide an integrated service delivered through four key complementary businesses to our clients in the resources, power, utilities, and telecommunications sectors across Australia.
The Western Renewables Link is a proposed new 190 kilometre overhead high-voltage electricity transmission line that will carry renewable energy from Bulgana in western Victoria to Sydenham in Melbourne’s north-west.
This critical infrastructure will unlock the renewable energy potential of western Victoria as a key Renewable Energy Zone and help deliver clean and affordable energy to all Victorians.
The Opportunity
Genus is seeking a Sustainability Lead to provide guidance and expertise on environmental regulations and sustainability practices to ensure project goals and regulatory/contractual requirements are met.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Sustainability team members to align outcomes with our overarching sustainability strategy.
• Supervising and directing the efforts of consultants and contractors to ensure the timely, budget-compliant, and quality delivery of agreed-upon outcomes.
• Establish and implement best-practice processes, procedures, templates, specifications, and guidelines applicable to all project types, along with frameworks for measuring and verifying energy, water, and waste efficiency projects.
• Preparation of sustainability reports ensuring that projects and operations comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address environmental concerns and develop sustainable practices.
• Enhance project efficiency in terms of environmental and sustainability considerations and providing recommendations to inform decision-making processes.
• Manage program operations and governance for all aspects related to sustainability for the project, including identifying, procuring, overseeing, and commissioning project-related activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to environmental and sustainable assessments,compliance, and initiatives.
• Manage high-level issues and give guidance to operational management on environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
• Advise senior management of potential issues or circumstances that may jeopardise a stakeholder relationship.
• Proven ability to negotiate, consult with and present to a wide range of audiences to achieve project objectives.
• Proven ability to effectively complete tasks and projects on time.
• Complete any other Genus tasks as advised.
Essential Skills / Qualifications
• Qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 Years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, laws, and sustainability principles.
• Demonstrated good safety record and knowledge of Work Health and Safety.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative and within a cohesive team environment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills and attention to detail
• Microsoft Office skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• High level analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level written, verbal communication and demonstrated ability for internal and external stakeholders.
• Advanced ability to interpret working drawings.
• Advanced ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously at the same time whilst meeting tight deadlines.
• Working collaboratively within a team and wider business
• Ability to utilise and implement internal and external systems and databases
