Support Worker for after school care (008376)
Job description
Location: Ottershaw, Chertsey
Hourly rate: £15.00 (negotiable)
Hours: 2–3 hours after school between Monday to Thursday OR 6–8 hours on Saturdays (flexible/discussable)
About Ryan
Ryan is an 8-year-old non-verbal autistic boy who attends a full-time special school. He benefits from routine, a calm approach, and support from someone who can build trust over time.
Role Responsibilities
- Spending time with Ryan and supporting his communication needs
- Playing, engaging in activities and providing encouragement
- Preparing and feeding him available food
- Taking him out for walks, playground visits or other outdoor time
- Bathing/shower support
- Optional: Driving him to local activities (if you drive)
About You
- Patient, reliable and calm in approach
- Comfortable supporting autistic children
- Able to follow routine and build trust gradually
- Friendly, consistent and willing to learn Ryan’s ways of communicating
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (arranged/processed for you)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience with children or autism preferred but not essential
