SUPERVISOR OF FLUVIAL OPERATIONS

Job description:

• Supervise, monitor, and ensure the safety, efficiency, and compliance of transportation operations on rivers and waterways;
• Plan and supervise fluvial navigation operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and punctuality;
• Supervise activities related to receiving, handling, storing, and loading products, as well as tracking supplies and inventory;
• Track the arrival and departure of river barges, including docking and undocking procedures;
• Coordinate logistics between terminals and ports, ensuring timely completion of operations and planning;
• Control and report operational losses, damages, and deviations on pushboats and barges;
• Implement continuous improvements to ensure safety, reduce costs, and optimize operational efficiency.
• Prepare operational reports for submission to coordination and management;
• Ensure compliance with maritime authority regulations, port captaincy regulations, and environmental laws;
• Monitor navigability conditions (river level, tides, currents, and climate) and define preventive safety measures;
• Prepare operational reports and performance indicators (KPIs);
• Develop and monitor fluvial operations procedures;
• Supervise communication between shore-based teams and vessels, as well as port terminals;
• Collaborate with audits, inspections, and technical visits;
• Activate insurance claims when necessary;
• Communicate programming and strategic decisions through meetings and official channels;
• Suggest improvements in operational processes and technologies to optimize the fleet.
