Supervisor - Fleet Maintenance (Open Pit)
Job description
Job Description This is a key role, supervising maintenance teams on dayshift and nightshift to ensure safe, efficient and effective maintenance is delivered to the open pit mining operations fleet. Critical to the role is the planning of daily workloads to ensure timely execution of planned maintenance, backlog and defect repairs along with accurate recording and reporting of materials and resources in the computerised maintenance management system (Pronto). The position is expected to be around 40 hours per week, with some flexibility for overtime as required. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in a similar role or relevant industry. Key responsibilities include: • Supervising and coordinating the work of maintenance teams on dayshift and nightshift; • Planning daily workloads to ensure timely execution of planned maintenance, backlog and defect repairs; • Ensuring accurate recording and reporting of materials and resources in Pronto; • Coordinating with other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration; • Identifying and addressing potential hazards and risks within the fleet; • Developing and implementing strategies for continuous improvement; • Maintaining a high level of safety awareness and adhering to all relevant safety procedures; • Providing guidance, training and support to team members as required. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; • 5+ years' experience in a similar role or relevant industry; • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems; • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Pronto; • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills; • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; • Willingness to work flexible hours including night shifts and weekends.
