Supervisor, Environmental Services

Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, you will be responsible for the efficient supervision of day-to-day operations in the Environmental Services Department.

• The successful incumbent will supervise the daily operations of Environmental Services including, cleaning & sanitation with working knowledge of all housekeeping procedures and practices
• Conduct regular inventory of housekeeping supplies, Check all equipment used by staff for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems
• Document call offs, and employee performance concerns
• Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to staff and review priorities.
• You will ensure that all work practices are in keeping with Hospital, Departmental, and legislated standards (e.g. PIDAC, Public Health, Workplace Safety and OH&S Act).
• You will be responsible for the labor management of staff, providing employee technical and non-technical training, coaching and development, recruitment, orientation, performance and attendance management, discipline, quality audits, job shadowing and workload assessment
• Work closely with the nursing units, clinical areas and other non-clinical areas/departments
• Participate in patient safety activities, infection control, risk management and quality improvement to meet hospital and healthcare standards
