About the Role


Coordinate and supervise the activities of the production area and the personnel under their charge to meet established objectives. Furthermore, they act as the primary element for training and developing floor personnel.


Responsibilities


  • Identifies, reports, corrects, and prevents potential unsafe acts in the area, product quality defects, line issues, and their possible solutions to apply corrective actions and document any incident.
  • Defines and delegates functions and activities to personnel under their charge, ensuring efficient work distribution and the achievement of operational objectives.
  • Ensures the fulfillment of production goals, monitoring daily performance and applying corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manages the human, material, and technical resources necessary for the efficient development of area activities.
  • Attends to customer requirements, considering process capabilities and proposing solutions for technical or capacity limitations.
  • Supervises and controls production and work-in-progress inventory levels, ensuring continuous flow and preventing bottlenecks or overproduction.
  • Ensures effective communication between different hierarchical levels, promoting the timely flow of relevant information for decision-making.
  • Coordinates feedback sessions with support areas, generating joint proposals to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintains constant communication with the quality department to understand and address aspects related to product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and participates in training programs, ensuring that personnel have the necessary competencies to operate safely, with quality, and efficiently.
  • Fosters a culture of order, cleanliness, and functionality in the work area, promoting compliance with standards such as 6S, lean manufacturing, and good operational practices.
  • Validates knowledge on the floor regarding aspects such as measurement systems (gages), control plans, flow charts, process sheets, work instructions, visual aids, calibration sheets, etc.
  • Based on the production plan, determines the necessary resources and manages available resources (raw material, personnel, machinery) to assign corresponding tasks and informs and recommends actions if the necessary resources are not available.
  • Complies with the production schedule based on resource optimization.
  • Delegates, supervises, and controls the activities of operational personnel.
  • Tracks the attendance of personnel under their charge.
  • Periodically evaluates personnel performance and, in case of disciplinary actions, informs the production chief to seek a solution.
  • Periodically supervises process conditions (Personnel, Machinery, Measuring equipment), ensuring the resolution of any problem that may arise.
  • Guarantees that the product is within specifications.
  • Develops their skills and knowledge in the area on the floor, guiding them on matters such as touch-off, offsets, tooling, inserts, among others.
  • Improves personnel's operational skills.
  • Guarantees that machines are ready and that maintenance is performed to avoid impacting production.
  • Provides support and validates process releases in conjunction with the Quality department.
  • Line release - supervising that the first piece is within dimensions, otherwise, appropriate changes are made.
  • FAI - As required by the corresponding procedure and the quality department.
  • Releases the line for operation and ensures that the material to be produced is within specifications.
  • Supports tests defined in the production plan.
  • Assigns personnel and areas to conduct tests - Oils, inserts, coolant, jaws, tooling, among others.
  • Supervises and tracks the implementation of systems in the area (6S, TPM, etc.).
  • Works collaboratively with involved areas (lean manufacturing, maintenance, quality) and supports the implementation of initiatives.
  • Develops a work culture in a clean and orderly work environment.
