Sanitation Supervisor


Professional with experience in the food industry to supervise and strengthen sanitation, food safety, and operational safety activities, ensuring compliance with established internal, regulatory, and corporate standards.


Required Profile

  • Degree or Engineering in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in the food industry (experience in the meat sector desirable).
  • Experience leading teams of more than 15 collaborators, as well as in training, supervision, and monitoring of performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Knowledge in microbiological monitoring, administration and control of chemical products, waste management, drainage cleaning, and execution of sanitation programs (experience in CIP processes desirable).
  • Experience in handling audits, food safety systems, and risk analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in handling ATR equipment desirable.
  • Availability to work in rotating shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to perform in operational environments involving work on elevated platforms, wet surfaces, application of lockout and tagging procedures (LOTO), and process areas.


Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the correct implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of sanitation, food safety, and risk prevention programs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements, including SQF, NOM-251, COFEPRIS, and TIF/GFSI standards, preferably.
  • Coordinate, develop, and train sanitation area personnel, setting objectives, monitoring performance indicators, and following up on improvement plans.
  • Evaluate sanitary trends and results to detect potential risks, as well as establish and execute preventive and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the handling of internal and external audits, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of identified findings.
  • Efficiently manage human, material, and budgetary resources assigned to the area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies and tools such as root cause analysis, Kaizen, TPM, 6W/5W, and risk management.
  • Coordinate pre-release activities for lines and verify the correct execution of cleaning and sanitization programs; experience with CIP systems will be valued.
