Job description

Hyatt Inclusive Collection is seeking your talent as General Accounting Supervisor | Shared Service Center


Job Objective

To supervise and ensure the correct execution of general accounting processes, guaranteeing compliance with accounting, tax, and internal control policies, as well as the timely, accurate, and reliable delivery of financial information. The position will be responsible for coordinating accounting activities for assigned properties and business units, promoting process standardization, operational efficiency, and compliance with service levels established within the Shared Service Center.


Main Functions:

  • Supervise general accounting operations and ensure the correct, complete, and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Coordinate and review monthly and annual accounting closings, ensuring compliance with the corporate calendar and established deliverables.
  • Review accounting entries, provisions, reclassifications, amortizations, depreciations, and other closing entries.
  • Perform and validate bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring follow-up and resolution of outstanding items.
  • Supervise the integration and reconciliation of accounting accounts, identifying relevant discrepancies, risks, and deviations.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, income statements, budget variances, and management reports.
  • Analyze monthly fluctuations and explain significant variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, corporate, and audit standards.
  • Coordinate the handling of internal and external audits, preparing information, support, and required reconciliations.
  • Follow up on internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and standardization in accounting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, authorization matrices, and segregation of duties guidelines.
  • Monitor performance indicators, response times, information quality, and compliance with Shared Service Center service level agreements.
  • Follow up on accounting incidents and coordinate their resolution with hotels, corporate departments, and support teams.
  • Lead, develop, and provide feedback to the accounting team, assigning workloads and ensuring objective achievement.
  • Train the team on accounting policies, procedures, tools, and best practices in the area.
  • Participate in transition, migration, and integration processes of new properties or business units into the Shared Service Center.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax, Payroll, Purchasing, and Operations departments to ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Maintain effective communication with hotel financial teams and provide support in inquiries related to entries, closings, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial information and special analyses requested by management, controller, or corporate direction.
  • Promote a culture of service, accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement within the team.


Requirements

  • Degree in Public Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting.
  • Indispensable experience in the hotel industry.
  • Experience in Shared Services highly desirable.
  • Previous experience supervising work teams and distributing operational workloads.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting closings, reconciliations, account integration, financial statements, and internal controls.
  • Experience in variance analysis, provisions, depreciations, amortizations, and intercompany operations.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, tax obligations, and audit processes.
  • Ability to work with demanding closing calendars and multiple business units.
  • Skill in analyzing financial information, identifying risks, and proposing solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, sense of urgency, and results-focused.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, data cross-referencing, and database management.
  • Good command of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar.
  • Desirable experience with reconciliation tools, financial reporting, and process automation.
  • Intermediate to advanced English, desirable for communication with regional and corporate teams.


Work Zone: Downtown Cancun. Corporate office located in front of Galenia Hospital.
