Summer Internship – Underground Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description Summer is coming! Internship Applications are now Open! Are you a talented and ambitious university student studying Geotechnical Engineering (preferably Hard Rock) looking to gain practical experience in your field of study? We have the perfect opportunity for you to join our Geotechnical Engineering team at OceanaGold Waihi operation. This paid internship opportunity will run approximately from mid to late November through to mid-February (dependent on exam timetable of the students). As an Underground Geotechnical Engineer Intern, you will be working closely with our experienced team to gain hands-on experience in the following areas: • Conducting site visits and inspections to monitor and assess the condition of underground infrastructure • Assisting with the development and implementation of geotechnical designs and plans • Participating in meetings and discussions with the operations team to provide input on geotechnical aspects of projects • Collaborating with other team members to identify and resolve geotechnical issues • Gaining experience with geotechnical software and tools • Developing your skills and knowledge in geotechnical engineering through training and mentorship In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive stipend and the opportunity to work with a talented and experienced team.
