Practical semester in the HSE Department – Support in Risk Analysis

We are looking for a motivated student intern (m/w/d) to support our local expert for occupational safety at our site in Pratau near Lutherstadt Wittenberg.
The focus of the student internship lies on the creation and development of risk analyses in the production environment.

 

About the Internship

You will work directly with our expert for occupational safety and receive a comprehensive insight into the daily tasks of our HSE Department. You will learn how an occupational health and safety management system works, and how it can be designed, evaluated, and continuously improved. A special focus lies on systematic risk analysis and deriving suitable measures.

Your Tasks:

  • Evaluation and assessment of hazard factors

You will support the implementation of risk assessments, analyze work processes, and identify potential risks in the production area.

  • Local and global communication

You will structure safety-relevant information, maintain HSE documentation, and work on developing existing standards.

  • Efficiency controls

You will participate in rounds at the site with our expert for occupational safety, document observations, and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

  • Participation in HSE projects

You will support ongoing projects and measures from the planning phase based on the PDCA cycle.

 

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Ongoing studies (Bachelor or Master) e.g. in Safety Engineering, Risk Prevention or a comparable field
  • First insights into production processes, occupational health and safety systems, and/or technical workflows
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Team and communication skills
  • Technical affinity and process understanding, as well as an eye for optimization
  • Very good German language skills (at least C1 level) and good English language skills (at least B1 level)
