GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences is an internationally active social science research institute of the Leibniz Association, funded by the federal and state governments.

We are looking for a

Student Assistant
(€15.20 / €16.09 hourly wage, 10 hours per week, fixed-term)

for the location Cologne in the Department Data Services for the Social Sciences, Team Data Acquisition and Access (DAA), starting as soon as possible.

The Data Services for the Social Sciences department offers sustainable infrastructures and services for the management, curation, and long-term archiving of research data. Its goal is to promote FAIR data, open science, and reproducible research in the quantitative and computational social sciences. To achieve this, the department offers, among other things, data services for the curation, publication, registration, and archiving of data for individual researchers, projects, and institutions, provides access to sensitive data, and conducts training and consulting on research data management.

• Support in setting up a customer management system
• Support in managing service requests for data archiving
• Research for methodological research on research data management - RDM (Data Sharing, Data Archiving)

• Very good Bachelor's degree in a quantitatively oriented social science discipline
• Experience with reference management software desirable
• Experience in website support desirable
• Independent, proactive way of working and ability to work in a team

• Varied tasks and in-depth insights into all areas of RDM from project design to project completion
